Access control Systems – Doors & Gates

ROJAC designs Access control systems for each individual residential, commercial retails or industrial site. In General, Access control systems are a way of limiting access to certain areas due to a users’ credentials. These users’ can be assigned memberships to different groups, therefore allowing access to certain areas at certain times while restricting others users. There are many types of access control system below are some of the types that Rojac supplies and installs.

What is Electronic access control?

An electronic access control (EAC) system is a security control system that is used to physically facilitate entry and exit into secure sections or areas of a home, commercial building, workplace, worksite or restricted area. (EAC) can consist of Biometric, proximity readers, code pads, CCTV Video Analytics (licence plate recognition), Z-Wave locks.

Proximity Readers

A proximity reader is installed external to an entry point. For proximity readers a card or key fob is required to be presented at the proximity reader and if the user is authorised will then allow access through the controlled door or gate. Most keytags supplied are waterproof. Proximity readers are more of a commercial application and manage entire building floors.

Bio-Reader (biometrics) Fingerprint

The Biometric reader uses the users’ programmed fingerprint to electronically gain access. The benefit with the Bioreader is that no cards or key tags are requiring. ROJAC carries out installation of Bio Readers for residential homes to allow keyless entry. Lost your keys? lost your key tag? Bio Readers are the answer as you only require your finger to gain entry. Children can also be programmed in to the reader as well.

Code Pads

Code Pads can be used with a pin code for access control systems. The advantage of using a codepad is there are no cards or keyfobs required. The disadvantage is if someone discovers the pin code they can be granted access. Vandal and weather resistant codepad are installed in external areas. Many users can be programmed into the system and code can be 4 – 6 digits in length . Code Pads are usually installed in less secure environments for eg. gates to homes storerooms in offices etc. Contact ROJAC to have one installed in your premises today

Licence Plate Recognition

With the use of a CCTV Security camera system, a camera with the applicable VMD video motion detection software can be programmed to recognise licence plates of vehicles into a residential apartment block, parking lots etc. This can then ve utilised to allow for the control of Garage roller doors and control access in and out of the building. Access control systems can be used in conjunction with Security Camera Systems, Security Alarm system, and intercom systems to enhance the overall security of all premises.

Other methods of access control

Access control systems can be used in conjunction with Security Camera Systems, Security Alarm system, and intercom systems to enhance the overall security of all premises.

How Does Electronic Access control achieve this?

Electronic Access control systems is a method of restricting or limiting access to certain areas/locations due to a users’ programmed credentials. These users’ can be assigned memberships to allocated groups, this then allowing access to certain areas at certain times while still restricting others users. the reader or Devices External to the controlled door or gate, transmit the users credential data to the controller, if the credentials match the database then a locking mechanism on the related door activates to either gain access or does not activate and denies access.
